Give to the homeless“Give to anyone who begs from you,” said Jesus, according to one translation, “and do not refuse anyone who wants to borrow from you” (Matthew 5:42).
Many people have reservations about giving money to beggars, but there are other ways of doing what Jesus says here…
1. Give something instead of money: a sandwich, some chocolate, a hat or scarf for the cold.
2. Buy a copy of the Big Issue.
3. Give money – or even time – to organisations helping the homeless to help themselves. Here are some Christian organisations that do this…
